Whether right or wrong, the claim that we can’t talk about objects outside of their relationship to humans certainly places the human at the center of things. This process is seen in the emphasis of so much of 20 century philosophy on language, meaning, signification, etc.

This is ridiculous. What a ridiculous misunderstanding (misappropriation?) to attribute the exact OPPOSITE emphasis of 20th century western philosophy to it. (via thanatropic)

Wait, what are you trying to say with that bolded sentence? Maybe I’m just really tired, but I read that, like, 10 times, and I’m not sure what you mean by it. Do you mean that quote is asserting the opposite of what’s been the case for 20th cent. philosophy (as in, it hasn’t been concerned with those things)?

Sorry to ask such a moot question, but my brain is just not functional right now, and that isn’t clicking right.
