I was once described as a "beautiful, intelligent iguana".
The revenue generated per McDonald’s employee: $64,300.
So, wait, they make, on average, $60,000/year for each employee, but can’t offer a living wage to most of them? I mean, capitalism or whatever, but that’s a little ridiculous, even for my jaded self.
Or am I just completely misunderstanding this graph?
Well, it’s a little harder than that, because McDonald’s has non-labor inputs like pink slime and whatnot to pay for. They make about 13k in profit per employee. Which still leaves lots of room for paying better wages while remaining profitable, but doesn’t have quite the same shock value.
Okay, cool, thanks. That’s why I was curious, because I thought they were taking into account the “non-labor inputs” with this, and that just seemed like a ridiculous amount of revenue/employee. Still though, fuck McDonald’s.
