Have you checked out Levi Bryant’s stuff? Don’t know much about OOO or speculative realism, but his stuff seems interestng, refreshingly accessible. The breadth and depth of his knowledge of continental trad. despite working in analytic is like woah

I’ve been meaning to check out some of his stuff. I know he’s considered as being somewhat on the forefront of all this Speculative Realism stuff - along with Iain Hamilton Grant and Ray Brassier - but considering that I’m getting most of my readings on speculative realism on leftover scraps from paychecks (whoo being poor), it’ll probably be a while. Sadly.

Since my primary entry to OOO was through checking out Heidegger books at my university, the only two people I’ve read in the movement are Harman and Meillassoux (along with a bit of Manuel DeLanda, if he can be considered a part of the ‘group’).

I do really appreciate this mix of people that are coming out, though, that are well versed in the analytic tradition, but aren’t just translating their ideas - or the ideas of other continental voices - into analytic parlance. They’re actually gripping with their [analytic] problems, along with traditionally continental ones. I see that as a good step towards getting passed this continental v. analytic nonsense.

I’ll have to check him out when I can though. Thanks for the suggestion.
